To gain a full understanding of the new world Canadian producers are operating in, we conducted a series of seven Town Hall meetings from Vancouver to Halifax. We heard from more than 100 member companies about the practical challenges and opportunities they see in front of them.
We debated on conference calls, gathered around boardroom tables, and toiled on task force groups – all to harvest every single ounce of expertise and thoughtfulness to formulate the responses and recommendations in this report.
Our goal is to help policy makers and industry gain a better understanding of the challenges independent producers face. We need to be proactive to ensure that Canadian content will continue to captivate audiences at home, and around the world, regardless of how the audience member accessed or viewed them.
